WWF is committed to the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethics in the places where we work and in our activities. Recognizing that our organization is only one among many stakeholders, we expect our grantees, contractual partners, and other entities with whom we work to commit to the following:

  1. Respect human rights, promote social inclusion, and implement social safeguards for vulnerable, local and indigenous communities.
  2. Comply with and actively support WWF in ensuring reasonable compliance with all applicable laws, including but not limited to the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act of 1987 and similar laws in relevant jurisdictions.
  3.  Uphold integrity in the use of funds and assets that may be provided by WWF, including taking appropriate measures to prevent, detect, and respond to concerns of misappropriation or other illegal activity; this includes implementing appropriate policies and procedures, and ensuring that employees, subcontractors or third parties abide by the same.
  4. Respect and safeguard employees to prevent and respond to discrimination, harassment, abuse of power, gender inequality, and sexual exploitation and abuse in the workplace.
  5. Respect the legal rights of the workforce to health, safety, fair wages, benefits, hours of work, freedom of association, and collective bargaining; against discrimination, harsh treatment, or forced labor; and to respect labor restrictions related to children, in accordance with applicable local laws and/or ILO Labor Standards.

Who can make a complaint?

Complaints or grievances may be filed by any individual, community, group, community representative, or indigenous or local organization, who may have been or may be affected by our intervention.

Regardless of the nature of the complaint, WWF will ensure that a transparent, timely, and fair process is adopted to address each complaint or grievance.

Communication of the complaint and its submission to WWF:

Complaints may be communicated through the following channels:

Content of the Complaint:

a) Name and contact information of the person filing the complaint or grievance.

b) If not filed directly by the affected party, the person filing the complaint or grievance must have proof of representativeness concerning the population, community, group of people affected;

c) The reason for the complaint or grievance, specifying the affected party and including the name of the project, if necessary; 

d) The geographic location where the complaint or grievance is filed.

e) The geographic location where the impact is occurring; 

f) Any other related information or documentation.

g) Any other information or documentation related to the complaint (photos, videos, minutes, or other means of verification). If prior contact has been made with WWF staff regarding this situation, please also indicate this.

h) Proposed solutions, if any

i) Indicate if confidentiality is requested and the reason for this,

Non-Retaliation Policy

WWF Peru strongly condemns and will not tolerate any form of retaliation against individuals or groups who raise complaints or grievances. Any person, community, organization, or representative body that has reported misconduct by a WWF Peru employee or consultant and believes they have been subjected to retaliation should report it immediately through the same channels outlined above.
