Stories from the Amazon

The Amazon. Its name evokes a vast and wild nature; habitat of amazing and, sometimes, scary animals. It is home to a diversity of indigenous groups and its deepest forests still harbor the last groups of people living in voluntary isolation,.

The Amazon is all this and much more. It is the result of a fragile balance, increasingly threatened.

WWF works in the Peruvian Amazon to accomplish the right balance between people and nature. Gretchen Lyons, Conservation Communications Manager in WWF International, traveled across Madre de Dios – one of the most biodiverse – and threatened -regions of the Peruvian Amazon. Join her to see what she found there.
