Privacy Policy
In compliance with the Personal Data Protection Law – Law No. 29733 and its implementing regulations, World Wildlife Fund, Inc. (“WWF Peru”), with Tax ID No. 20390346892, domiciled at Calle General Trinidad Moran No. 853, Lince, Lima, Peru, informs you of the conditions under which we process your personal data. WWF Peru respects privacy, and we understand that many people are concerned about how information is used and shared.
This Privacy Policy applies to the WWF Peru website: www.wwf.org.pe, all other sites controlled or operated by WWF Peru, all associated subdomains, online services and mobile applications controlled or operated by WWF Peru, and any other interaction we may have with you, online or offline, through which you access this Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Sites”). By visiting or interacting with any of the Sites, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any of the terms set forth herein, please immediately discontinue use of the Sites.
What information we collect
When you visit the Sites, WWF may collect the personal information you provide. “Personal Information” is information that identifies you as an individual or relates to an identifiable person.
Additionally, WWF Peru uses various techniques to collect other information about your use of the Sites, including, among other things, your IP address, browser type, mobile device type, content visited while browsing the Sites, and the duration of your visit. “Other Information” means any information that does not reveal your specific identity or does not relate to an identified individual.
If you submit any Personal Information relating to other individuals to us or our service providers in connection with the Sites, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to do so and to permit us to use such information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
How we collect information
WWF Peru collects Personal Information that you provide while using the Sites. For example, WWF Peru collects information when you complete forms on the Sites, including newsletter subscription forms, donation forms, surveys, and WWF campaign alerts, and when you complete the corresponding processes.
We may also use web analytics services that allow us to obtain your Personal Information based on your use of the Sites, including, for example, your clicks on Site pages and page elements, and information entered into HTML form fields on the Sites, to the extent necessary for proper Site functionality.
We may collect and supplement information about you from other online and offline sources, such as publicly accessible databases, social media platforms, and individuals who are your connections or with whom you otherwise connect through social media platforms, for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. For example, if you choose to connect your social
media account with your Site account, certain personal data from your social media account will be shared with us, in accordance with the privacy policies of those sources that you have accepted. This may include Personal Information that is part of your profile or your connections’ profiles.
We and our service providers may collect other Information in a variety of ways, including:
- Cookies
We may use “cookies” to help monitor traffic and collect information about Site usage. Cookies are pieces of data placed on your device when you visit the Sites and help us recognize you when you return, allowing us, for example, to remember the email address and password you use when logging in on a specific computer.
WWF Peru may use aggregated information collected through cookies to measure the number of visits to the Sites, the average time spent, the identity and number of pages viewed, assist with interest-based advertising with our partners, and collect other traffic data to improve the Sites. We may also use such information for security purposes, to facilitate navigation, display information more effectively, and personalize your experience while using the Sites.
Additionally, cookies allow us to select content or advertising that may interest you and display it while you are on the Sites. We may also use cookies or other technologies in online advertising to monitor responses to our ads. We may not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
- Web Analytics and Optimization
WWF Peru may use a variety of third-party web and mobile application analytics and optimization services to improve the Sites and visitor experience. When you use the Sites, we or our providers may collect, record, and use session information, including browsing behavior, click patterns, mouse movements, scrolling activity, keystrokes, chat messages, pages visited, and other analytics to enhance user experience and Site quality, as well as to debug, identify, and repair errors affecting Site functionality. The Sites do not track your browsing habits on other external websites for us.
We may also use Google Analytics, which uses cookies and similar technologies to collect and analyze information about use of the Sites and report on trends and activities. - Third-Party Advertising
We may use third-party advertising companies to serve advertisements that may interest you when you access and use the Sites and other websites. You may receive advertisements (1) based on information relating to your access to and use of the Sites and
other online services across your devices; and (2) based on information received from third parties.
To this effect, these companies may place or recognize a unique cookie on your browser (including through pixel tags). They may also use these technologies, along with information about your online browsing, to recognize you across devices such as mobile
phones and computers. We may also send anonymized and/or securely hashed data to our providers to determine the effectiveness of promotional campaigns.

- Pixel Tags
We may use pixel tags and similar technologies to, among others, track user actions, measure marketing campaign success, and compile statistics about Site usage and response rates.
- Browser/Device Information
Most browsers automatically collect certain information via your device, such as MAC address, computer type (Windows or Macintosh), screen resolution, operating system name and version, device manufacturer and model, language, and Internet browser type and version.
- IP Address
We may collect your IP address, which is automatically assigned by your Internet service provider. IP addresses may be automatically identified and logged whenever a user accesses the Sites, along with visit time and pages visited. Collecting IP addresses is a common practice, and many websites, applications, and other services do it automatically. We use IP addresses to calculate usage levels, diagnose server problems, and administer the Sites.
- App Usage Data
When you download and use our mobile applications (“Apps”), we may track and collect App usage data such as the date and time the App accesses our servers and what information and files have been downloaded based on your device number.
- Physical Location
We may collect your device’s physical location through satellite, cell tower, or Wi-Fi signals. We may use this information to provide personalized location-based services and content. We may also share your physical location, combined with information about ads you have viewed or other collected information, with our marketing partners to provide you with more personalized content and to study the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. In some cases, you may be able to accept or decline such uses and/or sharing of your device's location, but if you decline, WWF and/or our marketing partners will not be able to provide you with personalized content. Our apps may collect your device's precise location when the app is running in the foreground or background, depending on how you choose to configure the app's location tracking.
- Aggregated Personal Information
We may aggregate Personal Information. Aggregated information does not personally identify you or any other user of the Sites (for example, we may aggregate Personal Information to calculate the percentage of our users who have a particular telephone area code).
How we use collected information
WWF may use your Personal Information:
a) If you have provided your prior, express, and free consent through the mechanisms made available by WWF Peru on its websites or platforms to receive information about raffles and campaigns, services, projects, or activities related to WWF Peru’s purpose or that of its partners: WWF Peru collects information such as names, address, email address, telephone number, social media information, preferences, and other information expressly requested through the forms provided by WWF Peru for those purposes.
If you have given your consent to receive information or advertising related to WWF Peru’s activities or related organizations, the retention period will be 10 years or until you decide to revoke your consent. Your personal data will be stored in a user
database owned by WWF Peru.
b) If you have contacted us to file a claim or complaint or to make an inquiry through the electronic forms or applications made available by WWF Peru, your information will be stored in the user database for a period of 10 years from the date your claim, complaint, or request for information is resolved.
c) If you have provided your consent for such purpose, to personalize your interactions with WWF, for example, to tailor web and email content according to your interests, send you invitations to participate in events in your area, and provide specific content and communications; to improve the functionality of the Sites and the user experience; and to debug, identify, and repair errors affecting the intended functionality of our Sites. Your information will be stored in the user database for the period necessary to fulfill this purpose, not exceeding 10 years.
d) To send you administrative information, such as information about the Sites and changes to our terms, conditions, and policies, where a contractual relationship exists with you. Your information will be stored in the user database for 10 years after the contractual relationship ends.
e) If you have chosen to participate in such events, to allow you to participate in raffles, contests, and similar promotions and to administer these activities. Some of these activities have additional rules that may contain further information about how we use and disclose your Personal Information, which will be communicated in a timely manner. Your information will be stored for 10 years after your participation in such events ends, in order to comply with applicable laws.
f) If you have provided your consent where required under applicable regulations, for our operational purposes, such as data analysis, audits, fraud monitoring and prevention, development of new products and services, enhancement, improvement, or modification of the Sites, identification of usage trends, determination of the effectiveness of our promotional campaigns, and the operation and expansion of our activities, some of which may be shared with or used by our service providers and their
technologies and tools. Transfers of Personal Data and Cross-Border Data Flow WWF Peru may share your information with the following entities acting as data processors. Some of them may be located abroad, which may result in cross-border data transfers, as indicated below. In the event of such cross-border transfers, WWF Peru guarantees that personal data will be processed abroad under adequate levels of data protection equivalent to those established under Peruvian law.

Additionally, information may be transferred to: partners or sponsors for the purpose of implementing conservation activities; external sponsors of raffles, contests, and similar promotions; offices of World Wildlife Fund, Inc. in other countries, including in Ecuador, Bolivia, and Chile; affiliated entities and/or members of the WWF global network, such as World Wide Fund for Nature (“WWF-International” in Switzerland) or WWF-UK in the United Kingdom; a third party in the event of any reorganization, merger, sale, joint venture, assignment, transfer, or other disposition of all or any portion of our operations, assets, or shares (including in connection with any bankruptcy or similar proceedings); third parties that support the charitable mission of WWF Peru (e.g., other nonprofit organizations); or other parties that provide products and services that may be of interest to you. In these cases, since such information may not be known in advance, WWF Peru will timely inform you of the identity of these third parties whenever possible. Likewise, such processing arrangements will be carried out to fulfill the purposes described or authorized by you.
We may also use and disclose your Personal Information where necessary: (a) to comply with laws applicable to WWF Peru; (b) to comply with legal process; (c) to respond to requests from public and governmental authorities, including foreign authorities; (d) to enforce our terms and conditions; or (e) to prevent, detect, or investigate security incidents, fraud, or misuse of the Site, as well as to protect the rights and safety of WWF Peru and users, strictly as necessary and in accordance with applicable regulations.
We may use and disclose Other Information for any purpose, except where otherwise required under applicable law. If we are required to treat Other Information as Personal Information under applicable law, then we may use it for all the purposes for which we use and disclose Personal Information. In some instances, we may combine Other Information with Personal Information. If we do so, we will treat the combined information as Personal Information for as long as it remains combined.
How can you control information collection?

2. Do not provide your information when the Sites request it.
However, please note that if you decide to reject or delete cookies, your ability to navigate the Sites may be limited, and you may not receive advertisements or other communications from WWF Peru that are relevant to your interests. Additionally, if you choose not to share your information, WWF Peru will not be able to respond to your requests for information, and you may be prevented from carrying out certain actions, such as registering for any raffle or contest, facilitating your activities through the WWF Peru Action Network, or sending online postcards. In general, if you do not provide yourPersonal Information, the purposes described in this Privacy Policy may not be fulfilled.

If you wish to stop receiving content from WWF, you may do the following:
1. Use the unsubscribe links available at the bottom of marketing emails, specific campaign emails, or newsletters sent to you by WWF Peru, where applicable; or,

Please note that if you decide to stop receiving marketing communications from WWF, we may still send you important administrative messages, from which you cannot opt out.
Does WWF collect information from children?
WWF does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14 years of age. The Sites are not directed to children under 14 years of age. If WWF Peru becomes aware that it has collected personal information from a child under 14 without parental or guardian consent, we will delete such information as soon as possible. This Privacy Policy does not address the privacy, information, or other practices of third parties, including any third party operating any site or service to which the Sites link, and we are not responsible for them. The inclusion of a link on the Sites does not imply our endorsement of the linked site or service. Furthermore, we are not responsible for the collection, use, disclosure, or security practices of other organizations (including data security practices), such as Facebook, Apple, Google, Meta Platforms, Microsoft, RIM, or any other app developer, app provider, social media platform provider, operating system provider, wireless service provider, or device manufacturer, as these are outside our sphere of control.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
WWF Peru may modify this Privacy Policy. The legend “Revised as of […]” at the top of this page indicates when this Privacy Policy was last updated. Any changes to this Privacy Policy will become effective when we post the revised Privacy Policy on the Sites. Your continued use of the Sites after such changes means that you accept the revised Privacy Policy. WWF Peru will inform you of any modifications to this Privacy Policy when required under applicable regulations.
Security
WWF Peru has procedures and technologies in place to protect the information we collect. Records containing personal information are stored in secure facilities. WWF Peru employees receive training on how to handle your data securely.
